The Dawson’s Creek star, 47, said, “I’ve been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family. There’s reason for optimism and I’m feeling good.”

James became an overnight star when the teen drama hit TV screens around the globe in 1997 and after the series ended in 2003, he went on the star in a string of other successful movies and shows.

Since tying the knot with his second wife, Kimberly, 42, and welcoming six children – Olivia, 14, Joshua, 12, Annabel, 10, Emilia, eight, Gwendolyn, six, and Jeremiah, three – the actor has taken a step back from Hollywood.

The decision to move from Tinseltown, he explained, came after the couple lost two babies to miscarriage. “It was just so much pain,” he shared, “and so unexpected because everything was so right.”

The family relocated to a ranch in Texas and, says James, “My priorities have changed. I want to spend most of my time with my family.”

Now The Rules of Attraction star says he’s focused on his health. “I’m in a good place and feeling strong. It’s been quite the initiation and I’ll tell you more when I’m ready.”
