Six months on from the horrific car accident that saw him hospitalised in a coma, Boy star James Rolleston is opening up about his journey to recovery.
In an exclusive interview in this week’s Woman’s Day, the beloved Kiwi actor tells us how he battled through with the help of his stunning girlfriend, 20-year-old Aucklander Ayeesha Taylor.
Ayeesha was right by her movie star beau’s side in the days and weeks that followed the accident, even picking up and moving to Hamilton to support him as he was transferred to Waikato Hospital to continue his recovery.
James with his Pork Pie co-stars Dean O’Gorman and Ashleigh Cummings at the Auckland premiere last month.
“Nothing mattered more than James,” she says.
As for James himself, it’s clear the 19-year-old actor is smitten with his gorgeous partner.
“She’s just awesome,” he reveals, adding that it’s Ayeesha’s caring nature that has really stood out to him.
“She’s my doctor and my taxi, but she’s always been like that. Even before the accident, she really looked out for me,” James says.
While he still has a long road ahead before he’s fully recovered, James is determined to keep working hard – and with Ayeesha right there beside him, as well as his close-knit family and friends, he’s got plenty of support.
