For months, all the signs had been pointing to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s marriage being over. Solo red-carpet appearances, spending the summer apart, a cancelled tour, putting their marital mansion on the market… But it wasn’t until last week that J.Lo finally confirmed that she and Ben had split on 26 April by filing divorce papers in Los Angeles.

“She’s done waiting,” an insider spills. “She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken.”

Another source adds things started going wrong as early as their Italian honeymoon, when Ben was spotted crying. “She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage.”

Explaining why she took so long to file the papers, the insider insists J.Lo had, in early August, still “not fully accepted” it was over for the sake of their kids – her twins, Max and Emme, 16, and Ben’s children, Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. “This involves five kids. She knew they were going to blend families.”

Tellingly, J. Lo, 55, chose a very specific day to finally file for divorce – 20 August. The date marked two years since she and Ben, 52, said “I do” at an over-the-top, white-themed wedding in Georgia.

She’s reportedly keeping her “lucky” green engagement ring, worth $6 million.

Fighting over the marital millions…

For two people with vast fortunes – and four divorces between them – it’s shocking the couple reportedly didn’t sign a prenup. This could signal that a messy financial battle lies ahead.

Any income or property accrued during their marriage could be up for grabs. This includes the Beverly Hills home they’re trying to sell for $110 million, and money made from films such as Air and Shotgun Wedding. As it stands, J.Lo is worth $650 million, while Ben has $243 million. She requested that neither receive spousal support.

J.Lo’s also bound to have raked in profits from her new Delola cocktail brand. Recovering alcoholic Ben reportedly faced it as a big issue.

A source says, “Knowing he could possibly relapse, Jen decided to start her own spritzer line for more money.”

The Ain’t Your Mama singer raised eyebrows recently when she posted a video on Instagram of her drinking from a bottle. It came just weeks after sources claimed J.Lo was “furious” Ben had bailed on their marriage, since he was the one who initiated getting back together in 2021.

Taunting Ben over alcoholism?
