Is this New Zealand’s next Bachelor?

Has the next star of the reality dating series been revealed?

Bachelor fans are buzzing over reports that Aucklander Martin Colebrander, 27, could be the next man seeking love on the dating show when it returns for its second season this year.

Stuff reports that Martin – a model and tennis player – is ‘definitely in the running’ for The Bachelor NZ, although MediaWorks has yet to release an official statement on the news.

The 27-year-old is signed to 62 Models & Talent and has been a “hitting partner” for the ASB Classic for 10 years, playing against Venus Williams and other tennis pros.

He is said to have recently split from long-time girlfriend Storm Bellamy, of bespoke tea company Storm & India.

Like Arthur Green, New Zealand’s first Bachelor, Martin fits the ‘tall, dark and handsome’ archetype, but the identity of the next Bachelor is expected to remain a closely-guarded secret until the first episode airs.

The first series of the popular reality dating show saw Art find love with media sales executive Matilda Rice, and the couple are still happily together today.

“We’ve just clicked completely and utterly given in to how we are feeling,” Matilda told us last year.

“We are super-comfortable with each other. I always feel like I want to grab or cling on to him because I just love his little face.”
