Harry Potter star coming to New Zealand

The actor, who plays Draco Malfoy, is set to make a very special visit to our shores.

Harry Potter fans you’re in for a major treat this October when British actor Tom Felton visits New Zealand for a major pop culture event.

Felton, best known as Hogwarts school bully Draco Malfoy, is scheduled make an appearance at this year’s Armageddon Expo.

Aside from the actor’s bad guy character in JK Rowling’s Harry Potter film series, Felton’s film credits include Rise of Planet of the Apes and A United Kingdom.

He’s also recently appeared in the sci-fi fantasy television series The Flash as crime scene investigator, Julian Albert.

This year’s Armageddon, held in Auckland at the ASB Showgrounds, runs over four days. It kicks off on Friday 20 October and wraps Labour Day, Monday 23 October.

Last year nearly 70,000 fans attended the hugely popular sci-fi and comic convention, which is now in its 22nd year.

Attendees take the event seriously, and dressing up as a favourite character from films, anime and cartoons is a must.

As well as Felton’s appearance at the mammoth expo, two other very special guests have been announced.

US actor Nathan Fillion, star of Castle, Firefly and Buffy The Vampire Slayer is slated for an appearance at the event, along with Torchwood star, John Barrowman.

Fans can meet the stars during autograph sessions or photo opportunities, and the actors will also speak at a series of hosted panels.
