Gwyneth, 42, and Chris, 37, were married for 10 years and have two children together, 10-year-old Apple and 8-year-old Moses. The two announced they were ‘consciously uncoupling’ in March last year, but maintained their separation was amicable.

Chris has since been spotted with Hollywood darling Jennifer Lawrence – and although the two broke up in October, they’re reportedly back together and taking things slow.

Now, the actress appears to have given her blessing to the blossoming relationship during an interview with US radio host Howard Stern.

“Who says I don’t approve of Jennifer Lawrence? I respect him [Chris] as the father of my children … it’s his decision … he wouldn’t be with someone who isn’t great,” she said.

As for her own relationship with Chris since the split, Gwyneth revealed the two are actually on good terms.

“We actually have a really strong friendship and we laugh and have fun,” she shared.

“And we’re lucky in that our parenting styles and philosophies overlap a lot.”

One of the philosophies her and Chris share is that of ‘conscious uncoupling – the term she made famous after she used it in the statement announcing their separation.

As it turns out, conscious uncoupling was developed by philosopher Dr. Habib Sadeghi and his wife, and all it means is going through divorce with “minimal acrimony”.

“It’s a noble idea, and it’s a great thing to try to do for your kids,” Gwyneth explained. What’s more she says it’s “working” for her and Chris – even though she knows it’s “kind of a goofy term”!
