When she started on Shortland Street five years ago, Kerry-Lee Dewing could barely deliver her lines without choking on her nerves – but the beautiful blonde has evolved into quite the ballsy actress.
You only have to tune into an episode of the cult TVNZ 2 show to know her character, nurse Kylie Brown, has a knack for winding up in dangerous, life-threatening situations.
But when to comes to portraying her many on-screen kidnappings and hostage situations, Kerry-Lee likes to ditch a double and do her own stunts!
“I’m 100% in,” the 27-year-old says at our exclusive summer shoot, where she’s taking a load off after a physically-demanding 2016.
But being involved in dramatic storylines on the TVNZ 2 certainly takes its toll, says the star, who confesses the emotional burden on playing Kylie is a lot to handle.
“It was incredibly draining,” tells Kerry-Lee. “I try to tell myself I’m going to leave work at work, but it’s easier said than done.”
