Black Stick Gemma Flynn has completed her latest fitness goal, after taking part in the Spring Challenge race over the weekend.
The 26-year-old star, who only returned from her Hawaii hospital earlier last week, announced recently that she will take the rest of the year off before deciding about the future of her hockey career.
Flynn jetted down to Golden Bay to take part in the adventure race, which included mountainbiking, rafting and running.
Taking to Instagram, Flynn wrote: “What a great weekend.. Rafting, biking, running and enjoying. All I can say is that the Spring Challenge was every bit worth it.”
“Seeing so many women complete this event in such testing conditions was inspirational. One of the best events I’ve been involved in and so lucky to have these ladies alongside me.”
Meanwhile her All Black fiancé Richie McCaw was there to support her, sharing a snap of Gemma and some of the other competitors, commending them for their efforts.
“Awesome weekend being support crew for the girls at the Spring Challenge in Golden Bay. Well done to everyone who took part.”
