The Bachelor NZ: Erin tells all

After being eliminated from the show this week, Erin dishes on Jordan and her search for love

She declined Jordan Mauger’s offer to enjoy a night away from the cameras, only to be sent packing at The Bachelor New Zealand’s final rose ceremony last night. But newly-evicted Erin Higgins insists it wasn’t a case of no stay, no rose.

“I definitely don’t think that was the deciding factor,” she tells Woman’s Day. “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, and I just wasn’t feeling it.

“I admire myself for going for what I want, and I admire the other girls for going for what they want – each to their own.”

The same goes for Jordan, adds Erin, who has no hard feelings about the outcome.

“Of course, I would’ve taken a rose, but at the same time, I’ve stayed completely open-minded throughout this show. He’s following his heart, and I wouldn’t hold that against him. The silver lining was always going to be, if I don’t end up with Jordan, then there’s someone still out there for me.

“I wasn’t heartbroken, obviously getting denied isn’t the best, but I look back on the experience with very fond memories.”

So now that she’s out of the running, who is Erin picking to win? Last week it would’ve been Fleur, but the superyacht masseuse can’t deny Jordan and Naz’s chemistry.

“I couldn’t put my money on it, that’s how unsure I am,” she says. “Naz and Jordan are very touchy-feely, but I’m intrigued to see what his family have to say. Jordan is a definite family man, so if they’ve been watching the show and if they saw Naz going on about her hit list, they just might encourage him to go the other way.”
