After a “horrendous” breakup from her last serious boyfriend, it looks like Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has found love again – this time with 35-year-old tech and business entrepreneur William ‘Mack’ Knight.

The low-key pair are said to have struck up a romance four months ago, and last week, The Sun reports the two lovebirds enjoyed a week-long getaway at a lavish Californian hotel. The idyllic holiday reportedly involved scenic hikes, cosy meals for two and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean from the Post Ranch Inn’s serene infinity pools.

William and Emma have reportedly been dating for four months.

Like Emma, William – who goes by his middle name Mack – is an Ivy League graduate. The 35-year-old studied at Princeton University and Columbia Business School, and for the past four years, he has been a senior manager at Silicon Valley tech company Medallia.

“Mack is just a normal, down-to-earth guy who has nothing to do with Hollywood, and Emma loves that. She was left really hurt by her break-up with Matthew and it’s taken her more than a year to feel ready to start again with somebody,” a source told The Sun.

“They’re really happy with each other and see each other whenever Emma does not have work commitments.”

The relationship is Emma’s first since her painful split from rugby player ex Matthew Janney in 2014, which prompted the actress to go on a silent retreat in Canada’s Rocky Mountains.

“Even before my relationship ended I went on a silent retreat, because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself,” she said at the time.

Since the breakup, the 25-year-old actress has been busier than ever with plenty of pursuits both on and off the screen. She continues to champion feminist causes in her role as Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women, and earlier this year announced the launch of a feminist book club on Twitter that has already garnered several celebrity members.

She appeared in the drama Regression last year and has also been busy working on the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which is due for release in 2017.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Oxford University recently named Emma as one of its visiting fellows, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and others from a variety of fields.

“They are people drawn from a variety of backgrounds, callings and professions and we want them to form a bridge between our own academic community and the worlds they inhabit and represent,” said college principal Alan Rusbridger of the appointments.
