After their falling-out almost seven years ago, Sheila Farebrother probably didn’t expect son Elton John to attend her 90th birthday party – so it seems she hired the next best thing!
Shaila booked Paul Bacon, an Elton John lookalike who calls himself the Ultimate Elton, to perform at her party over the weekend. He even got up on stage with real pop singer Kiki Dee to do their best rendition of the classic hit ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’!
The rift between mother and son began in 2008, reportedly over something Sheila said to Elton’s husband David Furnish. Now Sheila says her son has cut her completely out of his life.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Elton said the singer had sent flowers but was currently on tour in America.
“He can’t be there if he is on stage,” the rep said.
