British heartthrob Eddie Redmayne has been forced to address rumours he dated Taylor Swift earlier on in his career.
On Wednesday, the 34-year-old actor told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen about his newest film – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
But in the process, one fan really wanted to know if there was any truth behind the rumours that Eddie had once romanced serial dater Taylor Swift.
“Can you put the rumours to rest: did you ever go out on a date with Taylor Swift?” the fan asked.
“I absolutely can put the rumours to rest,” the Oscar winner said. “I never went out on a date with Taylor Swift.”

Redmayne, who is married to Hannah Bagshawe and has a baby daughter with her, said he did meet Swift at the audition of Les Miserables.
That’s right, Miss Swift auditioned for a role in the musical, for which she apparently gave an “amazing” audition, according to Eddie.
“We got to sing together, which was a big moment for me. But, no, we never went out.”
Eddie also defended co-star Anne Hathaway, who faced quite a backlash for her role in the film.
