The Bachelor NZ may have finished airing, but the drama keeps coming!

A month after Chrystal Chenery slammed Dominic Harvey for posting a crude photo of her during a Dancing with the Stars number, her fellow Bachelorette Dani Robinson has spoken out against the shock jock and his co-hosts for asking her to play a controversial game on air.

In a piece on The Spinoff, Dani revealed she and several other contestants had been asked to play ‘The Cucumber Number’ while being interviewed by Jay-Jay, Dom and Mike Puru on their breakfast show. The game involved the women placing a cucumber in their mouth and biting down as far as they could, to reveal their ‘number’.

“I don’t know if you listen to their morning show, but they put girls on the spot and asked them to shove cucumbers down their throats to see how far they would go,” Dani told The Spinoff.

The game has already prompted a complaint from at least one listener, who wrote to the Broadcasting Standards Authority saying it was “demeaning to women”.

One of the other Bachelorettes revealed she had no idea the game would be part of her interview, and she said she warned the other women about it before they went on the show.

In an audio clip provided to The Spinoff by one of the Bachelorettes, the hosts can be heard egging on several of the women to play the game, before being turned down by all of them.

“This is actually more awkward than you not kissing Art [Green]”, Jay-Jay says in the clip, later adding “I bet you’ve never even had a cucumber before though, have you?”

“Look at her, she’s fit, healthy and sporty, I bet she has five plus every day – a girl’s got to watch what she eats,” Dom chimes in.
