Coronation Street’s Liz Dawn (better known as fan favourite Vera Duckworth on the long-running soap) is on the road to recovery after being rushed to hospital last week with reported chest pains and fluid in the lungs.
The veteran actress is said to be “quite chipper” after the scary incident, which comes after she left Coro Street in 2008 due to health issues.
Spokesman Barry McManus said in a statement that “Liz is recovering in hospital and according to members of the family is quite chipper”.
Earlier, a source close to the family revealed that the star had “been in and out of hospital quite a few times in the last few years and normally the family are quite upbeat, but this time they seem more concerned”, reported the Express.
“She’s not in a good way and her loved ones are obviously very worried.”
Liz previously suffered a heart attack in 2013 and underwent surgery for a heart condition in June, which sadly forced her to miss her grandson’s wedding.
Recently, she had been confined to a wheelchair.
