Matthew began secretly dating Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer when they were playing brother and sister (bit weird but ok) in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The pair were famously involved in a head-on collision in Northern Ireland, in which the driver and passenger in the other car were killed.

After playing ill-fated love interests on Game of Thrones, the world’s palest couple delighted fans by announcing their engagement formally in a newspaper. They then let the fans down again by asking that the filming of season 8 of Game of Thrones be delayed so that the cast and crew could attend their wedding.

Their characters on The Vampire Diaries shared a tumultuous on-again-off-again romance, so it is little wonder Ian and Nina dated in real life. The pair dated from 2010-2013. He is now married to Nina lookalike and Twilight vampire actress Nikki Reed.

The Australian bombshell and her British bloke met on the set of Suite Française where she was acting (alongside Michelle Williams) and he was assistant director. They married in 2016, in her home country of Australia in Byron Bay.

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt

Anna and Chris met when they played love interests in the film Take Me Home Tonight in 2007. By late 2008 they were engaged, then married in July 2009 when they eloped on an impulse.

In December 2017, Chris filed for divorce. They have one child together.

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus

In the same week that Liam lost the role of Thor to his brother Chris Hemsworth in 2009, Disney announced that he would be starring opposite Miley Cyrus in The Last Song, a movie based on the Nicholas Sparks’ novel by the same name. The couple started dating during filming and won the “Fave Kiss” award at the Nickelodeon Australian Kids’ Choice Awards in 2010 for the film. Miley and Liam have been engaged, broken it off and gotten back together since and are currently back together and engaged again – with rumours swirling that the pair have already married.

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn

Even though Goldie and Kurt met way back in 1967 on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, the pair only became romantically involved when they reunited on the set of Swing Shift. The pair have never married but have been inseparable ever since – they have a son together, they received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a joint ceremony and Goldie’s children, Oliver and Kate Hudson even call Kurt “dad.”

Jenna and Channing met on the set of the 2006 dance film Step Up and danced their way into each other’s hearts, marrying in 2009. They now have one daughter together.

Claire and Hugh met on the Rhode Island set of Evening in 2006. Despite starting their relationship as romantic rivals on the screen, the couple have been married since 2009, getting hitched in a private ceremony in France.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith

When Jada auditioned to play Will’s girlfriend on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, she was turned down for being to short. Yet the actress caught Will’s eye and got the role of his real-life girlfriend later on, with the couple marrying in 1997.

While starring in That 70s Show together from 1998, Mila had her first kiss with Ashton. Despite the pair just remaining friends for many years, they ended up getting together after Ashton’s failed marriage to Demi Moore.

“We all get movie star crushes, I’m marrying mine” said Mila. The couple married in 2015 and now have two children. Too cute.

The notoriously private The Place Beyond the Pines costars now have two daughters after meeting on set in 2012. Gosling previously dated another co-star, Rachael McAdams, who he acted opposite in The Notebook.

The same night that Jackman graduated from acting academy, he received a call offering him a role on the 1995 show Correlli, in which he would play Deborra’s love interest. Though the show only lasted one season, Deborra and Hugh married in 1996 and are still together today.

Though the lovebirds have since starred together in Pyrates, Murder in the First, The Woodsman, and Loverboy, they first met on the set of Lemon Sky in 1987.

This adorable couple now have two daughters together, James and Ines. But when they met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, Ryan was married to Scarlet Johansson and Blake was dating her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley. By December, both of them were single. The pair married in September 2012.

When the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith came out, even the critics couldn’t help but notice Ange and Brad’s on-screen chemistry.

“While the story feels haphazard, the movie gets by on gregarious charm, galloping energy and the stars’ thermonuclear screen chemistry” said one reviewer. Their relationship caused a scandal when Brad divorced Jennifer Aniston and later took up with Angelina, though Ange insisted that they had not had an affair during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith but had “fallen in love” on set.

On Mad Men, Alexis played an unhappy housewife who has an affair with Vincent’s character, but in real life, on the set, Vincent was smitten. However, he had just come out of a long relationship, and his friends encouraged him to play it cool. It paid off, and in 2012, the co-stars started dating. By June in 2014 they were married.

Alexis has also dated another co-star, Gilmore Girls actor Milo Ventimiglia.

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz

When Penelope first met her husband on the set of the 1992 arthouse drama Jamón, jamón, her character’s mother pays Javier to seduce her away from another man. But it wasn’t until 2007 that he seduced her in real life. Since the start of their relationship they have starred together in Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) and The Counselor in 2013.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

Although this relationship was famously doomed, it is one of the most famous examples of on set Chemistry turning into a relationship. The stars met on the set of teen vampire series Twilight and began dating in 2008, yet the heartthrobs broke it off in 2012, when Kristen was caught kissing her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders. Kristen later issued an apology to Robert, saying “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

After briefly dating other co-stars, including X-Men: First Class co-star Zoë Kravitz, Michael Fassbender began dating Alicia in 2014. The pair met on the set of The Light Between Oceans here in New Zealand. They married in a private ceremony in Ibiza on the 17th of October, 2017.

We were both single at the time, and there was just this kind of spark,” says Moyer. “I didn’t see her for three months, and she had gone from having dark hair to this beautiful blond, and I had gone from being blond to this dark vampire,” the actor says. “By day three or four – oh, this is going to sound so syrupy – but I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. It was within seconds, really, and it just became a thing.”
