Actress Debbie Reynolds has died just a day after her daughter, Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher.
The 84-year-old was at her son Todd Fisher’s house when she reportedly suffered a stroke and emergency services were called.
The family were reportedly discussing funeral plans for actress Carrie, who died just days ago, when Debbie fell ill.
“She wanted to be with Carrie,” her son Todd told Variety.
Debbie released a statement on Tuesday, thanking fans for their thoughts following Carrie’s death.
Debbie is a Hollywood legend, first appearing in films in the 1940s, before going on to be nominated for multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Awards.
She starred alongside Gene Kelly in the hit 1952 film, Singing in the Rain, as well as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, for which she received an Oscar nomination as best actress.
Reynolds received the SAG lifetime achievement award in January 2015
Her private life wasn’t as happy, with her then-husband (and daughter Carrie’s father), singer Eddie Fisher, left her for one of her best friends – actress Elizabeth Taylor – in 1958.
