Britney Spears has called for fans to pray for her eight-year-old niece, who’s in a serious condition after a terrifying quad bike accident.
Jamie Lynn’s dad, Jamie Spears, has begged fans to do their bit and pray for the recovery of little Maddie. This was a sentiment echoed by pop star Britney on Tuesday, who took to Instagram to encourage fans to pray for her beloved niece. A representative for the 35-year-old told Entertainment Tonight: “Right now the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family.” Last year, Jamie Lynn opened up about falling pregnant when she was just a teenager. “When I became pregnant my world came crashing down,” she confessed on her show Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out. “I look back now and I am like ‘Oh my gosh.’ I knew I had a lot of young girls who looked up to me and I felt that responsibility but at the end of the day I knew I would have to make a decision as a young girl myself, to do something that I could sleep with at night,” she recalled. Britney’s younger sister soon made peace with her pregnancy however, and is a doting mum to her little one. “I knew deep down that I was going to have my little girl, even if I had to raise her on my own, which is what I did,” she said.
