Blake Lively has shown that she’s not afraid to hit the red carpet with great style, and a fierce attitude.
The actress was walking the carpet at an event on Friday honouring her for her advocacy work against child pornography.
Lively was chosen to attend Variety’s New York Power of Women Luncheon as an honouree for her fight against child pornography.
Before she headed inside, the actress was approached by a reporter who asked her about what she was wearing, according to USA Today’s Maeve McDermott, who posted a video to Twitter from the event.
From her zinger of a response, it would seem Lively was none too impressed by what she’d been asked.
“Really? At this event, you’re asking me about my outfit? Seriously… Would you ask a man that?”
The Gossip Girl star went on to explain she was at the event to talk about her work with the Child Rescue Coalition.
“I’m here so we … become more aware, and that we change, and that we build women up,” she says. “So, you can ask me another question.”
Lively was one of several women who were recognised at the event. Other honourees included Jessica Chastain, Audra McDonald, Gayle King, Chelsea Clinton and Shari Redstone.
From the gravity of the speech delivered by the actress on child pornography, it’s clear why the fashion-focused question was out of bounds.
And just in case you were wondering Lively wore a dark green jumpsuit by Brandon Maxwell.
The designer posted a picture to Instagram of the star shortly after she was snapped on the carpet with a message praising her work.
“Stunning”, Maxwell writes, “Congratulations Blake, and thank you for all that you do!
