Beyoncé celebrated her 35th birthday this weekend with Michelle Obama and her daughters Sasha and Malia, as well as her own daughter Blue Ivy, at the president’s lush countryside retreat.
While the president himself was away on business – he’s in China at the moment for the g20 summit – the girls no doubt enjoyed a weekend filled with plenty of presidential-style partying.
Not only does Queen Bee mark her 35th birthday today, she also took out the biggest amount of awards at this week’s MTV video music awards ceremony.
The highly decorated singer took home eight of the Moonman statuettes. This makes her the most-awarded in the history of the VMAs, with Madonna now holding second place.
While relaxing in the country with the Obamas might be just what she needed after such a hectic week, we hear Bey is planning a big bash to celebrate her birthday milestone.
E-News reports she’s throwing a Soul Train themed party – after the 70s TV show which was all about the funk, disco and hip hop tunes of the time.
Oh and the clothes? Did we mention the clothes?
We imagine there will be some pretty amazing outfits on display as well – but naturally we expect Bey to outshine them all.
The huge party will be held in New York on the 5th of September.
