It might not be internet ‘official’ yet, but it would seem Beyoncé and Jay-Z is one step close to confirming news of their twins’ arrival.

It’s understood the A-list couple’s new babies were born late June, although so far the rapper and his multi-award winning songstress wife have stayed silent.

According to TMZ, it would appear the names of the twins have been revealed, with Rumi and Sir Carter being chosen by the couple as names for the new additions to the family.

The celebrity news-site reports the couple filed legal documents to protect trademark rights on the names on Monday June 26 – claiming this is around the time the twins would have gone home.

Both names have a distinctly unusual flavour, in keeping with the couple’s artistic flair.

Rumi may have been named as homage to the 13th century Persian poet Jelaluddin Rumi, and Sir – although normally used as a title before a man’s name – is also referenced in one of the poet’s more well-known sonnets

The pair also filed a trademark to protect the name of five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy earlier this year.

Although we’re still waiting on Beyoncé and Jay-Z to share their babies’ first photos and confirm details, Bey’s father Mathew Knowles revealed weeks ago the couple had given birth on social media.

“They’re here! #beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday,’ wrote Blue-Ivy’s grandfather on Twitter and Instagram alongside an image of a digital card that reads “Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Granddad.”

This post has since been deleted.

The twins’ maternal grandmother Tina Knowles Lawson has yet to confirm the twins’ arrival, despite her very active presence on social media.
