She’s taken beau of seven months Sean Penn (53) back to her native South Africa, with a surprising new addition – a large and shiny sparkler on her ring finger.
And now, those close to Charlize Theron (38) say the A Million Ways to Die in the West actress is indeed engaged to her long-time friend – and she has his family’s seal of approval.
The couple were spotted touching down in Cape Town, and while she tried to hide the sparkler on her left hand, onlookers glimpsed the Anita Ko 18-carat gold ring as she and Sean walked through the airport terminal hand-in-hand.
Wedding rumours have been swirling ever since they were seen on a romantic Hawaiian holiday in January, and it’s thought they will tie the knot in South Africa later in the year.

Sean’s daughter from his first marriage to House of Cards actress Robin Wright, 23-year-old Dylan Penn, recently said Charlize is great and that she’d love to welcome her and her son Jackson (2) into the family.
“They’re a great couple, and yeah, I love it,” she says. “They’re both extremely strong personalities and they’re very intelligent, so conversation lasts between them.”
Although it seems like they’re fast-tracking their relationship, Charlize recently divulged that they’re progressing with their romance very carefully.
“Sean and I have known each other for 18 years. We were just really good friends… [and] you are aware that you could screw that up and lose it,” she says.
“We had to think about it. But at the end of the day, it was somewhat effortless. It just kind of naturally happened, and before I knew it, I was in something that was making my life better.”
