Turning up the intensity
I really like high-intensity boot camp-style classes. I’m a big fan of Grit classes at Les Mills. It’s great having someone else to motivate me, and to get a good sweat on. I did a lot of running in my 20s but in my 30s I enjoy walking a lot more, and find it just as effective. I once did a 36km off-road running race through Abel Tasman, which took four-and-a-half hours. Absolute craziness never to be repeated! I also once did a long-distance ocean swim race and that’s not high on my list of things to do again either!
Dip it
Since having children, my favourite go-to meal is definitely boiled egg and soldiers – an easy and nutritious dinner for the whole family, and everyone loves a dippy egg!

I feel most comfortable when wearing… gym leggings.
The best trip I ever went on was to… Mexico for my 30th birthday with my husband.
My favourite actresses are… Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore.
If I could go on holiday tomorrow, I would go to… Tawharanui (north of Auckland) for a swim. It’s hard to go to the beach with a baby, but swimming in the surf is my absolute favourite thing.

Family time
Having recently had a baby, the only thing on my bedside table is the Plunket book; I don’t get enough sleep to read anything! Normally when I’m not feeding a small human around the clock, I try to exercise about four times a week. Even if it’s just a walk, it helps me mentally and physically. Top of my list once I’m exercising again will be Pilates, to gently regain some core strength.

Chill zone
At the moment my idea of relaxing would be a cup of tea without being sidetracked by children. But the dream scenario would be a Dermalogica facial at Louise Gray salon with the amazing Beverley. Super-relaxing and your skin is divine afterwards. Win-win.
A skill I would love to learn would be… I’d be keen to give stand-up paddle boarding a go.

Fitness faves
When I don’t feel like exercising, working out with a friend gets me motivated. If I’m trying to exercise early in the morning, meeting a friend is 100 per cent necessary. It’s great to combine exercise with a good natter. On other days, I like to pop my headphones in and have some alone time.
