Angelina was given the honour by Queen Elizabeth for her ongoing campaign against rape in war zones.

Her Majesty gave Angelina the title of Honorary Dame Grand Cross, which is the female equivalent of a knighthood.

During a private ceremony with the Queen at Buckingham Palace, Angelina was presented with the Insignia of her new title.

Accepting the great honour in a dove grey suit by British couture house Ralph & Russo, Angelina looked delighted as she shook hands with Her Majesty.

Brad Pitt and their six children were also there and got to meet the queen.

While Angelina was presented with the high honour, she can not be addressed as Dame Angelina because she is not British. She can, however, refer to herself as Angelina Jolie DCMG, if she wishes.
