It’s no secret that Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have some ‘Bad Blood’ between them – and Bravo star Andy Cohen experienced their ongoing feud first hand when he attended the Met Gala this year.

In his new book Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries, the TV host tells all about the time he witnessed a real-life standoff between the two celebrities at the fashion-forward event.

The Watch What Happens Live host claims he was trying to get the two popstars to settle their differences, when Taylor made her feelings about the ‘Firework’ singer clear.

“Why I felt I needed to get involved I will never know (maybe I was auditioning for her squad?) but I innocently said the wrong thing to her, which was, ‘Your friend Katy is sitting in the corner and there’s plenty of room around her,’” Andy reveals.

Taylor reportedly replied, “Katy who?”

“I said, ‘Perry’, at which point she clearly let me know that she’s the exact opposite of her friend,” Andy writes, adding that Taylor also asked him not to bring up the incident on his chat show Watch What Happens Live.

“She didn’t threaten me about putting it in my book, so here we are,” he continues.

While no one knows exactly what sparked the rumoured feud between Taylor and Katy, both singers have been taking not-so-subtle jabs at each other through social media and in interviews for the past few years.

In 2014, Taylor told Rolling Stone that her song ‘Bad Blood’ was written about a fellow artist that tried to “sabotage” her arena tour.

“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Taylor revealed.

“She did something so horrible … and it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business … she tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”

In a 2014 interview, Taylor hinted that Katy stole some of her backup dancers for her own tour.

The incident is rumoured to be about the time a few backup dancers supposedly left Taylor’s Red tour early to work with Katy on her rival Prism tour.

In the days that followed the Rolling Stone interview, Katy took to Twitter and warned, “watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing” – a reference many fans speculated was about Taylor.

When Taylor split with ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris in June this year, he added even more fuel to the fire by posting this now-deleted tweet.

“I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but ‘m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it,” he wrote.

In September, during a Twitter Q&A with fans, Katy was asked whether she would ever consider working with Taylor.

“If she says sorry, sure!” Katy replied.

Looks like this is one celebrity feud that won’t be patched up any time soon.
