Since being kicked out of The Bachelor New Zealand, Alicia Cowan hasn’t had any luck when it comes to her love life.
“I’ve been too crazy busy,” the 27-year-old tells Woman’s Day. “There have been no dates, but hopefully there’s one coming up in the future.”
Watch Alicia reveal the animal counterparts of her fellow bachelorettes in the video below – story continues after the video.
So what’s keeping the bachelorette away from romance? For one thing, her furry family has grown from 21 animals to 25. “I am definitely at my limit now,” Alicia laughs.
But her biggest new venture is her appointment as an ambassador for charity SAFE, which aims to improve the life of animals in New Zealand.
“It’s no secret that I have a passion for animals,” says Alicia. “It’s really nice to be involved with an organisation that pro-actively raises awareness on animal rights, fights for animal welfare and encourages the public to stand up and say, ‘Enough is enough.’”
The pictures of Alicia kissing a friend’s rabbit are for a campaign kicking off on World Lipstick Day, on July 29, which aims to convince consumers to purchase pout-enhancing cosmetics that aren’t tested on animals via the charity’s SAFEshopper app.
“Looking good doesn’t have to be at the expense of animals any more,” says Alicia. “Essentially it’s a search engine for brands so you can easily look up a product that you’re considering purchasing and it’ll tell you whether or not they do test on animals.”
