Alanis Morissette has welcomed a baby girl over the weekend, giving her a beautifully unusual name.
The Ironic singer took to Instagram to reveal she gave birth to her second child last month, sharing a cute snap of her newborn nuzzling into her over the weekend.
“She’s here,” Alanis captioned the picture. “Onyx Solace Morissette Treadway June 23 2016 #beyondblessed (sic)”
Never one to be conventional, Alanis chose to name her daughter after the black gemstone, which often has bands of colour running through it.
Alanis, 42, and husband Mario Treadway already have a five-year-old son, Ever Imre, together.

Earlier this year, the couple announced they were expecting their second child with a song and animated video – showing the family of three looking at an ultrasound image.
And just one week ago, Alanis shared a sweet message from her young son about her pregnancy – accompanying an artistic shot of her suspended underwater.
“You have to be extra gentle around ladies because they are the most helpful people in the world cause they make persons,” Alanis quoted her son.
