Veteran actor Alan Thicke has died, aged 69.
Thicke was taken to Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center around midday on Tuesday but was later pronounced dead, according to TMZ.
Hi publicist has confirmed the sad news.
The star of Growing Pains, How I Met Your Mother and Fuller House was reportedly playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, when he had a heart attack.

The Canadian-born actor had been in showbiz for decades and while he was known most famously for playing Jason Seaver, the TV dad on 80 sitcom Growing Pains, he also hosted game shows and wrote several famous TV theme songs for Diff’rent Strokes, Wheel of Fortune, as well as Growing Pains.
More recently Alan had been starring the the Fuller House revival on Netflix. Just hours before his death the actor had tweeted he was looking forward to the show’s second season.

Thicke is survived by three sons, Robin, Brennan and Carter, and his wife, Tanya.
His eldest son Robin has followed his dad’s footsteps into showbiz, recording hit songs including Blurred Lines and Get You Alone.

Celebrities paid tribute to the actor as the news broke on Tuesday (US time), with everyone from Demi Lovato to Ellen DeGeners expressing their condolences for the Thicke family.
