Charity CEO Simon is said to have popped the magic question during Christmas, but it seems Adele has only just started revealing the happy news recently.
“Adele blurted it out to her friends,” a source tells Heat.
“She says Simon popped the question at a really unexpected moment, when they were just at home hanging out. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him – and she burst out crying.”
While Simon’s simple proposal may not have taken place in the most glamorous location, the insider says Adele thought it was “perfect.”
“It was just how she wanted it,” the source said, adding that in true Adele fashion, there would be no attention-grabbing announcement for the happy couple.

“She doesn’t want to make a big fuss … she always wears a ring on that finger anyway,” the insider revealed.
In the past, Adele has been outspoken about feeling no pressure to get married. She and Simon welcomed their son Angelo in October of 2012, and previously, Adele has said she feels their family is enough.
“We’ve got a kid together. I feel like that’s a big enough commitment,” she said in a Rolling Stone interview last year.
However, Adele is said to be “thrilled” about the engagement, which caps off a whirlwind past few months for the songstress.
“She’s so happy – everyone thinks it’s the fairy tale ending she deserves,” the source says.

Heat reports the pair, who met through mutual friends back in 2011, are keen for a private, no-frills wedding to celebrate their union with their nearest and dearest. In fact, there are some rumours the engaged couple may have gotten hitched already, as the star was pictured wearing two rings on her wedding finger at a London concert.
Although she remains tight-lipped about any official confirmation of her engagement and wedding plans, it’s clear the star (and her tour) is a magnet for romance! At a previous show, Adele cajoled a fan into accepting his girlfriend’s Leap Day proposal, and yesterday in London she spotted a proposal taking place in the crowd and brought the couple on stage with her to celebrate.
