Adele has been forced to cancel the last two shows of her world tour

The songstress has penned a heart-breaking note to fans explaining why she's unable to perform.

Adele has just revealed won’t be playing her last two massive Wembley shows, scheduled as part of her finale tour, due to severe damage to her vocal cords.

The London-born singer took to social media to share the news with fans, writing she was “devastated” by the decision which she’d taken on medical advice.

“To say I’m heart broken would be a complete understatement,” the star penned in a touching post.

The 29-year-old hit-maker explained how she’d had to push herself through the first two nights of the tour but had reached a point where she realised her vocal cords wouldn’t stand up to the final two shows.

“I’ve considered doing Saturday night’s set,” the dedicated performer wrote, “but it’s highly unlikely I’d even make it through the set and I simply can’t crumble in front of you all and walk out on you in that way.”

She added that she’d even considered miming her way through the final shows so as not to let down her multitude of fans.

“But I’ve never done it and I cannot in a million years do that to you. It wouldn’t be the real me up there.”

The star apologised profusely saying: “I’m sorry for your disappointment… You know I would not make this decision lightly.”

She ended the statement offering a refund if the shows could not be rescheduled.

Its news that no doubt comes as a double blow for the many would-be Adele concert-goers as the singer has announced it was highly likely she was hanging up her touring boots.

Adele made the announcement leaving a handwritten note buried inside one of this week’s concert programmes.

The multi-award winner revealed that while she would be stepping down from performing but would still continue to make music.
