What is the new Bruce Springsteen documentary about?
Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will let fans backstage, in a way, as Bruce and his band embark on the mammoth 2023/24 tour. The doco promises fly-on-the-wall footage of band rehearsals and special moments – as well as one-on-one interviews with Springsteen on the topic. Its set to premiere first at this year’s Toronto Film Festival, before coming to the small screen.
The documentary makers promise that fans will get the chance to see professionally shot footage from the tour for the first time – while following the band through their one-of-a-kind preparation process, and onto performances for tens of thousands across continents.
It’s been a labour of love for the singer and his team. The doco was directed by Springsteen’s longtime collaborator, Emmy and Grammy-award-winner Thom Zimny, and produced by Bruce Springsteen, Jon Landau, Thom Zimny, Adrienne Gerard, and Sean Stuart.
