The ingredients you need in your skincare routine to combat acne

Because you shouldn't have to suffer from acne as an adult.

Ah pimples, our old foe. Just when you thought you’d seen the back of those nasty little villains, they rear their ugly heads again well into your 30s and beyond.

Acne is caused by overproduction of oil from sebaceous glands, usually driven by changes in hormone levels, leading to blocked and inflamed pores.

Acne has the same symptoms, whatever the age of the sufferer; however adult acne is generally more concentrated around the chin and neck.

Unfortunately it’s becoming more and more common later in life and in significantly higher rates in women compared with men.

Key causes are believed to include the hormone fluctuation during menstrual cycles and pregnancy, as well as low-level changes in stress, thanks to the hormone cortisol that floods the body.

As you can see from poor Kendall’s recent red carpet appearance, acne doesn’t discriminate with celebrities.
