The affordable skincare product that celebrities swear by

Victoria Beckham, Alexa Chung and Georgia Fowler are all fans of this natural skincare product.

It’s hard to find a skincare brand or product that is unanimously liked, but Weleda’s Skin Food seems to be a must-have product in many beauty bags.

From jet-setting models and celebrities to mums and beauty editors, this cult buy has earned a loyal following in its 90 years.

Rihanna, Winona Ryder, Julia Roberts, model Georgia Fowler, Adele and Victoria Beckham have all spoken of their fondness for the hydrating balm.

Speaking to Into The Gloss, Beckham explained her love of Skin Food: “What I love about it is that it’s not particularly expensive and you can find it anywhere. The formula is so thick and buttery. When I have a tan, I’ll mix it with coconut oil — the same you use to cook with — and cover my entire body with it.

“By the time I leave the house, I feel as if it’s really sunk in. Like my skin’s had a good drink. I go through so many of these… I wish they had bigger ones.”

Similarly, Kiwi Victoria’s Secret model, Georgia Fowler, revealed her love of the hydrating moisturiser, explaining that she uses the skin-saving cream on long flights: “I use an all-natural moisturiser called Weleda Skin Food. It’s especially good when I’m flying a lot because it’s super hydrating.”

So what is it about Weleda‘s Skin Food that’s caused such a stir in the beauty (and entertainment!) industry?

The skin cream is 100 per cent organic – and it feels this way when you apply it on the skin. You can tell the cream contains only the best natural ingredients: a mixture of organic plant actives (think: rosemary, wild pansy, chamomile and calendula), sweet almond oil and organic beeswax – dry skin doesn’t stand a chance.

The whole-body moisturiser intensely hydrates and relieves dryness but doesn’t irritate the skin – perfect for any skin problems you may be having during the change of season.

Tips for using Skin Food:

  • Before using, squeeze a small amount of Skin Food onto your palm. Rub the cream between your hands and then pat onto your face (no rubbing on the skin!)

  • Try using Skin Food if you’re having a stressful week: Skin Food can help perk up a pasty complexion and encourage a fresh, radiant look.

  • Model Erin O’Connor says she keeps hers in her handbag: “My absolute MUST is Weleda Skin Food, which I apply all over my body! It smells so fresh and uplifting too and I never leave the house without it.”

  • Apply the balm on hands, cuticles, dry feet, knees elbows and cracked heels to soothe dryness.

  • Use as a face mask or as a primer under make-up.

  • Anne-Marie’s make-up artist Emma Osborne, suggests using Skin Food for a ‘fresh summer glow’: “I love to add a touch to the high points of the face i.e. cheekbones/brow bones for that dewy glossy finish.”

  • Take the 30ml travel-sized Skin Food with you on your next flight and restore moisture to your skin after suffering through the cabin’s air conditioning.

You can find Weleda Skincare Products in selected Farmers, pharmacies and health shops.
