Morning routine

When I wake up in the morning the first thing I reach for is water! It’s so important to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I feel less sluggish and I also feel like my skin glows more when hydrated.

My morning skincare regime has been devised by my friends at Caci Clinic.

Before going to Caci, I was the girl who would chuck anything and everything on my face, which confused my skin.

After being properly educated by the Caci team, I now use all Murad products including Murad Refreshing Cleanser, Murad Hydrating Toner and Murad Perfecting Day Cream with SPF 30.

Hair and makeup

I’m a loyal devotee to using Kerastase on my hair – their range is simply amazing.

I use Kerastase Nutritive Bain Magistral shampoo and Kerastase Nutritive Magistral Fondant conditioner, then once a week I’ll do a Kerastase Nutritive Magistral mask.

The best hair care advice I ever received was that if you’re blonder, you absolutely must use a heat protectant product when blowdrying or straightening. I use another Kerastase product for this, called Kerastase Discipline Keratine Thermique.

Another essential for blondies is a purple shampoo. Fudge Professional Clean Blonde Shampoo is amazing and you only need to use it once a week.

Believe it or not, I always carry my entire makeup bag with me everywhere I go along with my hair brush.

My makeup bag is a glorious mix of MAC and Bobbi Brown. I also swear by Batiste Dry Shampoo so I make sure I carry a travel size in my tote bag for emergencies!

To transition a day-time look into the evening I usually go for a smokey eye look using a MAC palette, and add soft waves to my hair using a my GHD Creative Curl wand. On nights out I love loose beachy curls in my hair- nothing too formal.

A beautiful perfume is essential – I’m currently in love with My Burberry.

For really fancy events I hand myself over to the experts! My hairdresser Steph has just opened 1925 salon in Newton, Auckland – and she is amazing.

On special occasions, I turn to the girls at Smashbox Cosmetics in Ponsonby, Auckland – and false lashes are a must for special events, for extra glam!

Evening routine

At night I remove my eye makeup with Essano Gentle Facial Cleansing Micellar Water, and then use the same Murad cleanser and toner along with Murad Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture cream and Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer for Eyes.

As I am pregnant I am also applying Linden Leaves In Love Again body oil which has organic rose hip and avocado oils to help me avoid stretch marks!

Once a month I get a facial at Caci Clinic. I alternate between their Reformaskin treatments including Microdermabrasion, Sonophoresis infusion and Collagen Induction.

For waxing and pregnancy massages I go to East Day spa, and I get manicures at iCandy in Ponsonby, Auckland.

My celebrity beauty icon is Blake Lively – I love her natural, girl next door look. She has a natural glow and never looks over done. She is beautiful!

As I get older, I am definitely looking at the ingredients of my beauty products more closely. We all fuss over what food we put in our bodies, but we don’t pay as much attention to the ingredients we put on our skin. Since being pregnant I have changed my deodorant and body washes to natural alternatives.

I have a long way to go, but small steps make for big changes.
