Morning beauty routine

The first thing I do when I wake up is jump into the shower, I always need a shower to wake up properly.

I then wash my face with Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant face wash, pop some purple shampoo through my hair and then do a Kerastase Architecte hair treatment.

Because my hair is so bleach-blonde, it requires a lot of maintenance and care.

After I shower, I just put on some moisturizer and a bit of makeup. I’m pretty low maintenance in that way, having too many products confuses me!

During the day I’ll carry some translucent powder with me to prevent shiny skin, and some paw paw ointment for my lips.

I’m never very adventurous with my hairstyles; I’ll usually have it down straight or in a low ponytail or bun – set with a bit of hair spray.

For a simple day to night transformation I pop on a bright lip like Mac retro-matte liquid lip in either ‘Fashion Legacy’ or ‘Dance With Me’. I find just adding a bold lip can make you feel so confident and complete any look.

Night’s out

If I’m heading out to something a little fancy, my go-to routine usually goes a little something like this… apply a primer, foundation, set that with my trusty translucent powder, add a little eye detail (not very talented in this department so I just play around), bronze myself up a little and add a little highlighter, then add a lip!

I like my makeup to be quite basic, nothing too crazy!

Evening beauty routine

When I have the time and I’m not feeling too lazy, I’ll do a full cleansing routine.

I’ll start by using a Dermalogica Precleanse Oil to take my make up off, followed by a Dermalogica cleanser and eye make-up remover.

After that I love to lather up my skin with some Dermalogica Active Moist which is great for my dry skin.

As I’ve gotten older, my beauty routine has definitely changed in that these days I’m more willing to invest in a quality product and something that I know my skin will benefit from.

I try not to just buy the cheapest product going, as I know I need to look after my skin – I will be wearing it for a long time after all!
