Beauty fix: Easy dandruff remedy

This at-home hair fix might be the answer you've been looking for.

Many people suffer from dandruff problems and no-one really knows what causes it.

My personal cure is to rinse your hair after shampooing with half a cup of apple cider vinegar mixed with half a cup of warm water.

Rub it into the scalp and leave to dry – do not rinse out.

Do this every time you wash your hair until the dandruff disappears.

I also found this recipe in an old recipe book: slice up a handful of lemon leaves and steep in two litres of boiling water. When cool, use this lemon water to shampoo hair and then rinse. Do this every week until the dandruff goes, then once every six weeks.

Other helpful at-home hair cair fixes

For damaged hair: Yoghurt, honey & olive oil

If your hair is suffering after a long summer of sun, sea and salt exposure, it’s time to get some moisture back into those tresses.

Mix together:

-1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • ¼ cup yoghurt

Apply to damp hair and allow the mixture to sit on the hair for 15-20 minutes.

Rinse hair and use shampoo

Condition and leave to dry.

For greasy hair: Cornstarch

Take 1 tbsp cornstarch and pour it into an empty salt or pepper shaker.

Sprinkle it onto dry hair and leave for 10 minutes.

Use a hairbrush to brush the product out and your hair grease will be gone!
