Matilda Rice divulges her best party prep secrets

The former Bachelor babe shares her best beauty tips and her biggest sins.

What’s your best advice for revellers during the festive season?

Have a bit of fun with the party make-up. It’s Christmas! Go on, get the red lippy out.

Tell us your top three desert island beauty products.

A good mascara (my eyes disappear into my head without any on), a good concealer (for my sunburnt nose – it’s inevitable) and a really hydrating moisturiser.

What’s your go-to party look and hairdo?

I love a good old-fashioned blow-wave. It’s my favourite easy hairstyle when I go out, paired with a natural make-up look. I like fresh skin to be the focus of the make-up.

Tell us the top three tracks from your getting-ready playlist?

“Ritual Union” by Little Dragon, “Pink + White” by Frank Ocean and “Just a Lover” by Hayden James.

What’s your signature scent?

Scandal by Jean-Paul Gaultier.

What’s your best-ever beauty tip?

Look after your skin and teeth! I use Colgate Optic White to keep my pearlies nice and bright. Drinking lots of water and eating well can do miracles for your skin.

What’s your biggest beauty indulgence?

Facials. They are pricey but so relaxing and my skin thanks me for them every time!

Your biggest beauty sin?

Fake tan. I had a serious fake tan addiction in 2008 and every now and again I’ll jump back on to the fake-tan train for a bit. I can’t help it!

Share with us your most cringe-worthy beauty moment.

The fake-tan addiction as mentioned before and over-waxing my eyebrows to tiny strips. So terrible!

The best beauty advice you’ve ever been given?

The key is to accentuate, not cover. I love the thought of enhancing your natural beauty rather than covering your face.

How do you maintain your beautiful skin?

I eat pretty well most of the time and drink lots of water, and I make sure to invest in good-quality natural skincare. Oh, and face oil – it’s the best!

What did you love about your red-carpet look for this year’s music awards?

I loved my eye make-up. My make-up artist used the new Burgundy Bar Palette, which I’ve been dying to try, and she used some of the darker shades to bring out my green eyes. I’m not a fan of too much darkness around my eyes, so I feel like she totally nailed it!

Who’s your style icon?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. I love her! She’s so classy and feminine. I love pretty much every outfit she wears!
