We love winter for all its warm layers, snuggly knits and – we’ll be honest – not having to shave your legs days.

But spring has officially sprung, and that means one thing – time to get your skin looking healthy and polished again, ready for all of your new season adventures.

Follow our five step plan for getting rid of winter and ready for the long summer ahead.

Make time to body brush

Dry body brushing is a method many women find beneficial for the appearance and feel of their skin. Brushing with a dry body brush in an upward motion can help stimulate lymphatic drainage and your circulatory system, with many saying they see an improvement in the appearance of the skin after consistent body brush use. Supermodel Miranda Kerr swears by the practice.

Get a good scrub down

Rid your body of dead skin cells that can dull the appearance of the skin by using a gentle exfoliator in the shower.

Alternatively use a body wash with a shower pouf or sponge to get the skin looking sparkling, like this Palmolive Oil Infusions Body Wash that gently cleanses and deeply nourishes the skin.

Up your moisture game

If you’ve been neglecting moisturiser this winter, it’s time to give your skin some much deserved TLC. Straight from the shower, rub in some Palmolive Oil Infusions Body Moisturiser to keep your skin smooth and hydrated.

In a recent Palmolive survey*, 92% of New Zealand women said they would recommend the new Palmolive Oil Infusions body moisturiser to their friends, thanks to its light non-greasy feel and delicious fragrances.

Enriched with essential oils and botanical extracts, the body moisturiser is available in three unique blends. Our personal favourite is Rose with Macadamia, which is making us feel summery already.

Nourish from the inside out

There are few shortcuts when it comes to skincare, and moisturising from the inside is just as important as what you put on the outside.

Up your water intake to keep skin hydrated and plump, especially as the weather heats up.

Befriend antioxidants

Antioxidants can help defend your skin against free radicals – out to cause it no end of problems including premature ageing. Vitamins C & E are both antioxidants that are beneficial to your skin, so try incorporating these into your diet. Vitamin E can be found in nuts and seeds, avocado and leafy greens, while you can up your Vitamin C dose with fruit and veg, like our very own Kiwi fruit.
