Alongside The Bachelor's Zac Franich, former Shortland Street star Shavaughn Ruakere has been revealed as the latest contestant on Dancing with the Stars New Zealand – and she tells Woman's Day she isn't ruling out a sizzling on-set romance.
"I'm single, so it could happen," she says mischievously. "I'm really happy with my dance partner. He's a really good teacher."
In the magazine's latest issue, Shavaughn – who once dated "first bloke" Clarke Gayford – also opens up about life in Los Angeles, her return to her family farm in Taranaki and her recent milestone 40th birthday.
"Being 40 is cool," she says. "You start working things out about yourself and you like yourself a bit more."
Shavaughn will be going head-to-head in the glamour stakes with Newshub anchor Samantha Hayes, who was announced as a contestant earlier this week.
Also confirmed for the show are Gilda Kirkpatrick, David Seymour, Robert Rakete, Marama Fox, Chris Harris, Jess Quinn and Roger Farrelly, with a few more names yet to be announced.
