Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have welcomed a new family member!

The couple now has two pet pooches to care for.

It's not quite the pitter-patter of tiny feet the world is secretly hoping for, but Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have reportedly welcomed a new addition to the family - a fur baby in the form of a labrador puppy.

Over the weekend PEOPLE reported that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan adopted the pup earlier in the UK summer. A source told the publication that their new pup is with them as much as possible, joining the pair when they are at Kensington Palace in London and when they are at their country home in the Cotswolds.

The Royal couple are already proud parents to Meghan's rescue beagle, Guy, who traveled to the UK before the royal wedding.

Meghan was forced to leave her second dog, beloved rescue pooch, Bogart, behind in America because he'd been too old to make the trip, but Bogart, a labrador-shepherd cross, is reportedly now living happily with close friends of Meghan's in Toronto.

It's no secret the couple are big animals lovers, but it seems Meghan may be something of a dog whisperer. Prince Harry revealed his new wife managed to charm the Queen's corgis with ease, confessing the pups took to Meghan more than they ever had to him.

Harry turned to Meghan during a BBC interview (view the interview at the top of this article) and said: "And the corgis took to you straight away.

"I've spent the last 33 years being barked at; this one [Meghan] walks in, absolutely nothing ..."

Meghan said they were: "Just laying on my feet during tea, it was very sweet."

Harry added: "... just wagging tails and I was just like argh."

Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, made sure their beloved pooch Lupo was included in the first family photos they released after the birth of Prince George.

But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not the only members of the royal family to love dogs.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine are the proud parents of family pooch, black cocker spaniel Lupo. He is considered such an important member of the Cambridges he was included in the first photos the royal couple released of their new son, Prince George.

Prince William plants a kiss on Lupo's furry head.

And we all know how much the Queen loves her corgis. She only recently stopped breeding them and has always given her canine cobbers a free reign in her home, not batting an eyelid when they crash important meetings with dignatories.

The one room she won't allow them in, though, is her bedroom - because they apparently keep her awake with their snoring!

It's a royal dog's life!
