These are the Sony World Photography Award Winners 2017

The New Zealand entries are spectacular.

From the wonders of the natural world to the hidden beauty of inner city life, the Sony World Photography Awards are always a showcase of the brightest and best pictures from the place we call home.

For the National competition finalists, three entries from each country were chosen, often depicting very different sides of each nation.

New Zealand’s entries range from winner Miriam Strong’s triple exposed image, to Matt Lance Draper’s atmospheric whale image, and our personal favourite: Linda Cutche’s Lake Wanaka shot.

From Russian portraits to Slovenian scenic shots, these are definitely worth a look.

Linda Cutche’s entry came 3rd for New Zealand.

Matt Lance Draper’s entry came 2nd place.

Miriam Strong’s triple exposed image came first for NZ.
