Charlie Sheen changes name

Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen has reverted back to his birth name, Carlos Estevez, for his new film Machette Kills. The actor, who changed his name at age four to avoid confusion with his uncle, also called Carlos, appears under his birth name in the trailer for the new flick by director Robert Rodrigeuz.

In an interview in 2012, Charlie said he never embraced his Latino heritage. “I don't wake up feeling Latino. I'm a white guy in America," he said.

"I wish I spoke more Spanish. I'm sure I can learn, but there hasn't been a lot of time lately... It was never a part of my life growing up. My parents never infused it into our household."

Charlie’s father, Martin Sheen, was born Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez. Martin changed his name for show business reasons but never legally switched names.
