Black Caps batsman Martin Guptill and his wife, TV and radio personality Laura McGoldrick, have taken to Instagram to share an adorable video announcing the gender of their baby.
In a short clip shared on Laura’s account, the cricketing superstar was thrown a ball by a child. After smashing it with his bat, the ball broke open in a mist of colour, confirming the gender of the couple’s first child together.
The sporty couple wed in a fairytale ceremony in September 2014 and told Woman’s Day earlier this year that having children was always on the cards for their future together.
“We’ve always definitely thought we’d be parents one day,” Martin revealed.
“And we’ve been realistic about the stages in our lives we were at,” adds Laura. “We didn’t put a timeline on it – we just let things be. But the timing couldn’t have worked out any better, actually. It’s already the perfect baby!” Laura chimed in.
