See Anne Geddes’ babies all grown up

Anne Geddes photographed some of the cutest baby photos in the 1990s – including a lot of Kiwi kids.

Today, she’s sharing the most memorable pictures alongside snapshots of what her then-tiny subjects look like now.

Using the hashtag #babylookatyounow the famed photographer is sharing the then and now versions of her work.

“A lot of people probably thought I’d photographed the same baby 3 times! And I couldn’t blame them for thinking that because they also had pretty much identical expressions. Even their mother said sometimes she had trouble telling them apart,” the photographer wrote on Instagram.

“Wow! Happy 23rd birthday to beautiful Maneesha, who I photographed in 1993 in a NICU Unit in Auckland, New Zealand. At the time of the shoot Maneesha weighed 2.2lb (just under 1kg) – she was born at 28 weeks gestation (weighing 680g/a little under 1.5lb),” Geddes shared.

“I don’t generally like to play favorites, but this image is certainly one of mine. I always know an image is going to be magical when my hands start shaking as I’m trying to focus … and it’s no mean feat to get 3 babies asleep at the same time,” Geddes wrote.

“Here’s Zac today, still beautiful (oops sorry Zac – I meant handsome!) but a lot bigger … he’s topped out at 6ft 5 inches! I’m loving this series because I’m constantly amazed to see “my babies” as they are today!” Geddes shared.

“Look what little water lilies grow in to! I so vividly remember tiny 6 month old Taylor, who was happy to sit in my lily pond way back in 1995 … she even thought the leaves were quite tasty!”

“[Danyon’s] bunny suit was too small and he burst out of it. Now he is 23 and 6’4″!” Geddes wrote on Instagram. “Oh and Danyon – now all your friends will know you were the sweet little bunny all those years ago.”

“Back in 1993 when I photographed 7 month old twins Alexandra & Myles, I described them as the very essence of what I love about babies – those wonderful rolls and fabulous tummies! Look at the twins today – well travelled 24 year olds,” the photographer shared on Instagram.

” I remember them at the shoot because they had the cutest eyebrows for little babies and totally identical expressions. Hmmm … BABIES, LOOK AT YOU NOW!,” she wrote.

“Remember this sweet little pansy baby from my first book “Down in the Garden”? Well here’s Gracie today – 22 years old, with a passion for the arts,” Geddes wrote on Instagram.
