A Kiwi mum is getting attention from all over the world after unveiling her own natural baby wipes how-to, showing that mums can save money and be kind to their baby’s skin.

Joy Ratima, who lives in Melbourne, posted the video tutorial online back in March, and it has since had 2million views.

It all started when Joy became concerned about the chemicals in a lot of baby products, so decided to come up with her own, which she shared on her personal Facebook page.

She also has her own mummy blog page, Mama Joy at Home, filled with other life hacks like homemade makeup remover wipes, detangling hair spray and weekly meal plans.

“I make my own baby wipes – did you know that they have a huge list of chemicals in them (and we use them to clean our precious baby bums),” she wrote in a Facebook post.

“I have had heaps of people ask me to show them how to make them the way I do and although I felt like an egg filming this (although my big boy thought I was good, bless his heart) and I didn’t really want to put it up here I thought I would so hopefully others can do the same.

“Takes less than 5 mins to do and is cheaper than buying wipes too.”

And it’s not just Joy who likes to create her own. The Weekly’s Wendyl Nissen also detailed her own baby wipe how to back in 2013. Follow her guide here.
