The Kiwi star took to Facebook earlier this morning to share the sad news, writing, “At 9pm last night with a complete circle of love sitting beside her, Jacqui, Myself, Liam & Renee, comforted Mum in her last breaths.

“The beauty that surrounded that moment was a moment only she could have created. Yes there was so much pain in her last 18 months, but we will never forget the force of beauty, fire, protectiveness, empathy, strength and of course the realm of magic that exists in and around her,” she continued.

“We will see you soon our love. Every time I look at nature you will exist. Mother Nature exists forever and so do you. Can’t thank you everyone for love and support you have given me. So many of us go through this.”

Rachel had previously opened up about Janeen’s battle with cancer on social media, sharing a poignant Instagram post in honour of Mother’s Day last Sunday.

Alongside a photo of her holding Janeen’s hand, Rachel wrote: “Having laid next to you all night, my heart breaks in pieces with the pain you are in as we still continue this journey today with this hideous disease. You are infinite.”

In another post, the 47-year-old shared that she and her son Liam had been sleeping at the hospital in order to be by her mother’s side.
