What fashion trends we will be seeing this Winter?

High-waisted denim, pants and leggings are key this season. Pair high-waisted bottoms with cropped knitwear for a curved silhouette; and a look that’s both warm and stylish.

Pink has made a comeback in recent months and it isn’t going anywhere for winter. Towards the end of the season we’ll see some new variations on it, with warm mauves and lilacs which complement your existing wardrobe. Subtle pops of colour look amazing paired with black, grey marl and winter white pieces.

Grunge is a key trend this winter.Think vintage-inspired and acid wash tees, choker detailing, check shirts and a statement red puffer jacket; all which team perfectly with a favourite pair of worn black jeans.

How can we get “looks for less” and follow the fashion trends on a budget?

Fashion trends are evolving all the time; which can feel overwhelming (Not to mention expensive).

What’s important to me when sourcing the looks for each season, is to offer pieces which are both on-trend and accessible, and can also complement what’s in your wardrobe already.

I’m a big believer in mixing and matching. Invest in some key staple items, and pair them with some more affordable trend pieces for each new season.

How can we make the 90’s grunge trend more wearable, especially in the workplace?

Workplaces in general tend to employ a more relaxed dress code these days, but it’s important you feel comfortable and work-appropriate.

For a smart, yet stylish office look – try an oversized shirt with high waisted mom jeans and black ankle boots.

Alternatively, pair an acid wash tee with black skinny jeans, heels or smart flats, and your favourite blazer or leather-look jacket. Both looks nod to 90’s while still being smart for the workplace.

How can we wrap up warm without looking frumpy?

When wearing oversized pieces on the bottom and top – for example mom jeans and an oversized tee, tuck in your top at the waist – if even only partially, to create more shape. This should eliminate the risk of any frumpiness, and is a great opportunity to show off your favourite belt.

How can we wear velvet, lace and satin without looking costume-y?

Pair these fabrics with pieces you have already and that you feel comfortable in.

The beauty of velvet, satin and lace is that they have re-emerged in a way that is so easy to wear day to day.

For instance, they all look great with denim – pair them with your favourite ripped jeans or a denim jacket for an effortless street style look.

How can we nail layering, for days when the weather is unpredictable?

Never go past a good jacket, it’s the best way to beat this unpredictable weather.

For this time of year, a denim or leather-look jacket is the perfect option, and as it gets cooler, a parker or warm coat.

As another layering option, tie a shirt around your waist, it plays into the grunge trend and provides an extra layer of warmth if you need it.
