“We are planning to stay in Auckland with friends and family as we’ve mostly spent the last month travelling outside of New Zealand. We’ll do an Easter egg hunt in the garden on Easter Sunday morning with Lola (who is 2-years old). It has become a wee tradition with her.”

Adrian Hailwood

“I’m in Auckland for Easter weekend, heading to Piha for the Friday night for a friends dinner then back into town to finish last touches on the costume design I’m doing for the Auckland Theatre Company’s Amadeus. It’s on May 2-17.”

Yvonne Bennetti

“At Easter my husband Damian, our son Oscar and I travel to Mt Mauganui to stay at a 1940s beach house on the waterfront – it is Damian’s parents’ house and has been in the family for over 30 years. We shall be spending Easter surfing and paddle boarding. We hold an Easter hunt for friends and family and love to go to Luca café on our skateboards.”

Ingrid Starnes

“Our family is heading down to Tairua for the first few days of Easter and then heading on down to my Mum’s place just up from Gisborne. It’s a beautiful remote sleepy part of the east coast. I’m looking forward to spending time with our children and all their younger cousins. I’ll hopefully find time to catch up on some reading and swimming in the ocean too.”

Liam Bowden, Deadly Ponies

“Normally I go overseas but for this Easter I get to stay at home which I am very excited about! I will be spending the time with friends and family, and hopefully getting some quiet time by myself. I’m looking forward to trying to get some veges in the veggie garden – I seem to be in a constant state of weeding but never getting time to plant anything in it! I’ll also be doing some bike trails with my brother.”

Rachel Easting & Anjali Stewart, Twenty-Seven Names

Anjali: “I’m heading out to Riversdale Beach just outside of Masterton to hang with my family at the coolest house/bach, which belongs to my husband’s Aunty and Uncle. My favourite thing about Easter is the chocolate chip hot cross buns from Pak’nSave – I’m holding out for them.”

Rachel: “My partner’s family is descending on us from Melbourne and Dunedin. There was talk of working bee, painting the roof etc.(here’s hoping it’s raining). I am looking forward to a few days off to hang at home with my daughter Zoe (less than 1-year old) and hopefully getting some baking in!”
