The nation watched in anticipation as Arthur Green and Matilda Rice fell for each other on the first ever season of The Bachelor NZ this year. After weeks of group and one-on-one dates, cocktail parties, embarrassing animals and even a terrifying horseback accident for Matilda, the couple have made it through and are more smitten than ever.
Now that the cameras have stopped rolling, what’s in store for the lovestruck duo? As Matilda revealed to Woman’s Day, the couple are excited to “just be normal”.
Having to keep their relationship secret until the show finished meant plenty of sneaking around for Art and Matilda, with secret date locations all around Auckland. Now, however, the two can finally go public with their romance.
“Art’s the same genuine guy I fell for on the show. He’s down-to-earth, caring and hilarious – the only difference now is he is all mine,” Matilda revealed to Woman’s Day.

The couple mark March 8 – the day Matilda accepted Art’s final rose – as the official beginning of their relationship.
In the aftermath of having her heart broken by Art, runner-up Danielle Robinson has found support in her twin sister Michelle.
“Having a twin is great because no matter what happens, you always have someone there,” Dani told Woman’s Day. Now, thanks to the show, Dani knows exactly what she wants in a boyfriend – “someone who is confident, knows what they want and reassures me all the time”.
Bachelorette Poppy Salter was also unlucky in her quest for Art’s heart, but the bubbly yoga teacher has found her true match in new boyfriend Jacob MacDonald!
As the ‘After The Final Rose’ special proved, Invercargill native Alysha Brown is on great terms with Art now – he’s even acting as her personal matchmaker! What’s more, the blonde beauty is proudly showing off her new curvier figure, having gained 15kg over the past six months.
“I truly believe the most attractive asset a girl can have is confidence and the best thing a girl can wear is a smile,” she says.
After they were both eliminated from the show, Bachelorettes Brigette Dickinson and Amanda Macdonald became closer than ever! The besties now live together with Amanda’s three year old twins Daisy and Daniel.
