The half sister who just won’t let up, Samantha Markle, is stirring things up again. This time she has travelled to London to reportedly talk to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, about their father, 74-year-old Thomas Markle.
But if the reports are to be believed, Duchess Meghan is “tired of Samantha’s games” and there’s “not a chance in hell” that she’ll meet with her. The Duchess has washed her hands of Samantha Markle, and who can blame her.
“The idea that Samantha can just turn up at Kensington Palace and demand to see Meghan is beyond laughable,” a palace insider told Hollywood Life. “Samantha has done nothing but disparage Meghan on TV, in the press and via her Twitter account, and has been stirring up trouble and ill will ever since Meghan became engaged to [Prince] Harry.”
According to Samantha Markle’s publicist Rob Cooper, Samantha wants to talk to Duchess Meghan about Thomas Markle’s health.
In a series of tweets Cooper explained, “Samantha Markle is coming to the UK. After making numerous attempts in private to arrange a one on one meeting with The Duchess of Sussex to discuss their 74-year-old father’s health, Kensington Palace have refused to respond.
“I fear Meghan may not be made aware of these discreet attempts and therefore making this public is the only option we have left,” Rob added in a second tweet.
“I currently have Samantha in Europe with just one short flight away. This DOESN’T [sic] need to be public, we would prefer to keep this private. Samantha is coming to the UK this week, like it or not.”
Sources have revealed to the Daily Mail, however, that Meghan would never entertain the idea of a showdown with her half sister.
“There is not a chance in hell that Meghan is going to lower herself and meet with her half sister,” an insider told the Daily Mail.
“Samantha is kidding herself if she thinks there is any possibility of getting together with Meghan or anyone from the royal family for that matter. Meghan and Samantha are not close in the slightest – they never have been and it’s doubtful they ever will be, especially after all of Samantha’s name-calling and bullying.”
The Duchess has had enough of Samantha Markle’s antics.
Samantha’s latest public outburst was to compare Prince Harry to a hamster on his 34th birthday.
The source added that Duchess Meghan has other things to concern herself with, such as finding her mother, Doria Ragland, a place to stay when she comes to the UK for extended visits.
“Harry doesn’t mind Meghan’s mum staying with them for a couple of weeks until she finds a place of her own, but only as a short-term solution,” a palace insider told Life & Style.
“Harry adores Doria and is happy that she’s moving to London to keep Meghan company, but the idea of them all living under the same roof is just too much to take on.”
Meghan is also focusing her attentions on her new role as a royal public figure. Last week she stepped out for her first solo engagement, attending the Royal Academy of Arts for the opening of the Oceania exhibition.
The event celebrated artworks from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the Kingdom of Tonga.
She also recently made her first royal speech, after putting her weight behind a cookbook, which has been released to raise funds for those who survived the Grenfell Tower fire in London. The Duchess spoke passionately – and without notes – about the Hubb Community Kitchen project as husband Prince Harry and her mother Doria looked on proudly.
