Princess Eugenie’s Instagram snap of her dad reveals something juicy about Buckingham Palace

We love a Royal rule-breaker!

Just when we thought tossing protocol to the wind was Meghan Markle’s jam, apparently Prince Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie, has inadvertently let the world in on life inside the Palace that our eyes were never meant to see.

The picture in question? Well, the Princess took the sweetest happy snap of her dad, Prince Andrew, captioning the pic: “A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and@hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.”

And while we can’t stop gawking at Andrew’s proud, beaming smile, savvy Royal watchers have uncovered something about this picture that we never even thought much of…

According to PEOPLE, the very spot Prince Andrew is standing in this picture is rarely ever seen by the public. With elaborate works of art and portraits hanging on the pale blue-painted walls and sculptures lining the hallway, this private area of Buckingham Palace is as striking to look at as it is the height of British royalty.

Not only that but if you turn your gaze towards the bottom of the picture, you will get a rarely-seen look at the ruby-red rug that seems to run for 100metres up the lengthy hallway.

Speaking of Instagram-loving Royals, before she became the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan was an active double-tapper and selfie-uploader, but now that she has climbed her way up the British Royal Family ladder, she’s no longer allowed a personal account. So, why is Eugenie, then?

As previously reported by Now To Love, like most things in the Royal Family it all comes down to rank and where Eugenie falls in line to the throne.

Because Princess Eugenie of York isn’t a full-time royal (even though some reports suggest her father Prince Andrew wants his daughters to be), and has to earn a living with a regular nine to five like us normal folk, it’s believed she’s allowed to run her own social media accounts as she isn’t trying to portray the same message as top-tier roles.

While Prince William, Duchess Catherine, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry share their news and updates through the official Kensington Palace channels, which are run by a social media team, Eugenie is essentially a free agent.

And with that, here are our favourite pictures from Princess Eugenie’s Instagram to date…
